Best Areas to Stay in Lagos

Where you sleep in Lagos decides how much of Lagos you experience. Traffic is the city's tax on poor planning, and an apartment fifteen minutes from your meetings is worth more than a slightly cheaper one an hour away.

Here is how we advise guests choosing between the four neighbourhoods where Haven Stays operates.

Victoria Island — best for business

If your days are made of meetings, stay on VI. Banks, embassies, corporate headquarters and the better restaurants are concentrated here, and Landmark Beach gives you somewhere to decompress without a long drive.

The trade-off is price and density. Expect the highest nightly rates in the city and busy weekday mornings.

Ikoyi — best for families and longer stays

Ikoyi is quieter, greener and more residential. Gardens and terraces are common, which matters when you are staying for weeks rather than nights, and it is minutes from both VI and the Link Bridge to Lekki.

Lekki — best for first visits

Lekki Phase 1 balances space, security and social life. Admiralty Way and Freedom Way cover food and nightlife, the beaches are a short drive east, and estates here tend to have reliable power and gated security.

Ikeja GRA — best for early flights

If you are in Lagos for two nights around a flight, GRA saves you hours. It is roughly fifteen minutes from the airport, calm at night, and considerably better value than the island.

A note on power and security

Whichever neighbourhood you choose, ask two questions before booking: what happens when the grid goes down, and who is at the gate. Every Haven Stays apartment has generator or inverter backup and estate security as standard.
